Maung Maung Tinn

Curious kids
Maung Maung Tinn fled from Burma more than 10 years ago. Since then he has been living in the Mae Tao Clinic. He's been living and helping here. And he's been painting. Beautiful watercolours are telling stories of the lives of his people. Sad and sorrowful stories as well as stories of happiness and bliss. He paints moods and emotions in the faces of his figures, which create empathy and touch the heart. We don't know much about art, but what Maung Maung Tinn is painting is more than art - it's love.

His earnings are given to mpeople in need
He only owns photos or copies of his pictures; the originals are spread all over the world, decorating the rooms of donors in many countries. It's hard for him to give away his pictures; they are like children for him.

But he needs the money. Not for himself. He spends the money on charity. He buys food for the orphans and the refugees in the villages. He buys clothes for the poorest of the patients, whose clothes are torn and smeared with blood. He buys diapers for the newborn babies or pays for the transport of relatives.

And whenever there's something to celebrate at the clinic he buys a special treat for dinner. This opportunity to help gives meaning to his life, to his art. That's why he paints; to help. Just because of that.

Would you like to give something special to your friends or your family?

Send us a photo. We will send it on to Maung Maung Tinn. After a couple of months you will receive an elaborate portrait in watercolours. Your donation - we suggest 150 Euro or more - will be directly given to Maung Maung Tinn. He will hardly keep anything for himself.

You will do charity work and receive a beautiful picture at the same time!

These are scans of color-copies - the originals are a real pleasure to view!

3 days later their father died of meningitis

Left alone with her children

At the market

On the flight

The little secret

Joy is a rare companion

This world is to small for us

Hidden in the jungle

Life treat

I want to go back home

Illigally in Thailand

No food, no home, no school

Curious kids

The kids hide before the soldiers

We are civil war victims

Wait, wait, wait

Why isn't the world beautiful also for me

How much timehe has left, my little Pasoghe?

We ran, we run, we will run!

Where do we find a safe place to stay?

And where is our peace?

Hard work instead of learning at school

No future for these kids

Their future is fragile

I miss my home, my family, my culture
