Funds for the setting up of self sufficient communities.
We are working together with Karen Youth Organisation and Karen Women Organisation which are trying to create self sufficient communities.
These groups produce candles, woven product, textiles and embroided products. We sell a part of their produce with the help of fair trade organisations or in fair trade shops.
The Karen Youth Organisation bought, with our money, 200 t-shirts and colouedr them. A teacher instructs the children in how to colour the t-shirts. Then the t-shirts are sold to tourists or members of the different NGOs in the refugee camps near Mae Sot. The money received is used for other youth orientated activities.
The amount of money needed for such a project is about €500 - €2000.
